Yoga
Yin Yoga
A slower style of yoga gaining popularity in the West as an antidote to our rushed lives. The muscles are soft, the poses are floor based, the connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, tendons) are being accessed.
Yin Yoga is great for improving flexibility and sleep.
Gentle Yoga
Hatha is the origin of most popular yoga styles. There is a gentle deliberation to this practice, bringing unity to body, breath and mind. We will enjoy some breath work, joint nourishing poses and meditation - suitable for those wishing to tone and stretch. These classes move at an appropriate pace for those new or returning to yoga, with poses explained clearly and time given to accessing appropriate alignment. It is gentle... but not always easy....!
During class we will occasionally drop into the stillness of yin yoga. Exploring the space movement brings to our joints, but also allowing for nourishment of the fascia when appropriate.
Not all gentle yoga classes are the same. Monday 9am is my most energetic class, closely followed by Wednesday 9am. These two classes will allow each student to challenge themselves a little more and may include vinyasa flow sequences. The most gentle of the gentle yoga classes is 10.30am Tuesday - this class is suitable for those suffering injuries or those needing a soft introduction back to yang yoga.

Massage
Myofascial Release Massage
This addresses the fascia and myofascia, and is done without oil or clothing (although you will be draped for modesty). This dynamic technique is effective at releasing adhesions, changing restrictive holding patterns in the soft tissue and restoring the body's natural flow and glide-ability. Myofascial Release Therapy is highly effective at addressing pain, increasing range of movement and restoring overall function in the body.

$90 per 60 minute session

Acupuncture
Classical Chinese Acupuncture
I am registered with CMCNZ, Acupuncture NZ and ACC.
Acupuncture can work on many different issues within the body - emotional as well as physical. It can reduce or even remove pain and it can help speed healing. It allows the body to come back into a state of balance.
In each session I investigate the overall health of the patient and address the obvious as well as the underlying conditions.
When booking an ACC acupuncture session, please have your ACC45 number, NHI number and date of injury ready, these sessions are approx 60 minutes long and can assist with injury repair.
Cost
$100 for initial consultation (75 minutes)
$80 for subsequent sessions (60 minutes)
$30 surcharge for ACC sessions (60 mins)
